Programme Objectives The Supplier Development Programme is targeted at SMEs who wish to consider procurement as a means of growth or diversification and those who wish to improve or expand their current performance within the public procurement market. The principal objective of the supplier development programme is to encourage and assist access to the public procurement market via a programme geared to the specific procurement needs of SMEs. Our main priority for supplier development will be to build awareness and to provide information on Buyer and contract opportunities. Education and training in all aspects of winning tenders and procurement will be an area that will be continually developed and offered to businesses that are registered with the Supplier Development Programme. This would ideally prepare participating businesses to reach the stage required to tender for public contracts whilst delivering transferable business skills improving the overall competitiveness and profitability of participating business. Additional Programme Objectives We have implemented a new version of the Supplier Development Programme Website. It will incorporate new functions such as on-line diagnostic tools. The Suppliers Register is now available on-line. This function enables you to publish your business details in the Suppliers Directory section of the website so that your information is available to prospective public sector buyers. A Q&A section and a facility to enable users to register for forthcoming events on-line are also now available. We have recently expanded the Partnership, it now consists of 13 Local Authorities. North Ayrshire Council, West Dunbartonshire Council, East Dunbartonshire Council, Angus Council, Perth & Kinross Council, Inverclyde Council, Renfrewshire Council and South Ayrshire Council have recently joined.
