Ayrshire "Love Me Tender" Event |
|
The 3 Ayrshire Councils recently combined to host a free seminar in Ayr titled ‘Love Me Tender'. The seminar was developed through the SDP Programme, having been successfully piloted in Glasgow earlier this year.
Over 90 local SME's and 130 people attended the event, which was aimed at helping SME's learn more about the tendering process. Increasingly, contracts to provide professional services for public sector organisations are being awarded through rigorous tendering procedures. These contracts can be extremely valuable to companies, yet the tendering process can sometimes be daunting. As a result of the seminar, half the SME's who attended have signed up for four 1-day workshops over the next 2 months. The workshops, which started last week, are designed to provide each company with the necessary information and skills required to tender more competitively for contracts in the public sector. The 3 Ayrshire Councils are currently organising an Ayrshire “Meet The Buyer” Event similar to the event held in Glasgow City Chambers this summer. The event will take place at the Gailes Hotel, Irvine on 18th November 2008. Further information will be posted here in due course. |
