W H Kirkwood Ltd is a construction company based in Greenock with over 100 years construction trading experience.
Following modernisation and relocation early in the new millennium the company has taken on an increasing number of construction projects of all types and has consolidated its position as a contractor within west central Scotland.
Why did you decide to participate in the Love Me Tender programme?
To be at the forefront on the new tendering procedures.
What were the main benefits of attending?
The main benefit of the workshops was being given the opportunity to put forward direct questions and examples of how our experiences with new procedures has affected our business and how we manage these to take the next step forward in securing tenders.
It was helpful to have the buyers' point of view on what they are looking for from suppliers and how we can best present our company to them.
In what way has your tendering process changed/improved?
We now recognise that new procedures such as pre-qualification questionnaires are not just 'paper exercises' designed to prolong the tendering process but provide us with the opportunity to really show our potential clients what our strengths and capabilities are and why choosing W H Kirkwood Ltd is the best option.
