Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) have launched a Market consultation for Woodland Carbon Code and Peatland Code Validation, Verification and Surveying.

Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) have a growing pipeline of carbon projects which will be reaching verification deadlines in the period June 2027-2030 and beyond.

As such, FLS has a requirement to put in place a framework agreement with suppliers to carry out Woodland Carbon Code and Peatland Code validation (at the start of the project) and Verification (every 5-10 years to check progress) services on all FLS carbon projects. This will also include the requirement to carry out Woodland Carbon Code verification surveys.

Market consultation is an important part of the procurement process and gives FLS an opportunity to consider specialist opinion and expertise.

FLS are requesting all interested suppliers complete their survey by Close of Business 21st March 2025.
