Historic Environment Scotland Launches new Heritage & Place Programme

Historic Environment Scotland (HES) have officially launched its new area-based Heritage & Place Funding Programme (H&PP).

The programme aims to contribute to the development of vibrant and sustainable places in Scotland, through community-led regeneration of the historic environment. It supports the development and delivery of heritage-focused schemes within conservation areas, or distinctive heritage areas with local authority recognition.

HES is working in partnership with the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) to promote this programme, as NLHF is also providing funding support for the heritage place projects. Although NLHF has its own funding programme with its own criteria and application process, Grants for Heritage. It aligns with the aims of the H&PP, which is why the organisations felt working together would be beneficial for the potential schemes and applicants.

For more information, HES and NLHF will be jointly hosting two online information sessions.

Session 1 – Wednesday, 27 April 2022

This session will provide attendees with a general overview of the H&PP and the NLHF ‘Heritage for Grants’ for area-based schemes and will include information on areas such as the application process, timeframes, eligibility criteria, and funding priorities. This session will by followed be a Q&A where you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

Session 2 – Wednesday, 18 May 2022

This session will include information on the types of projects and activities that could be included in a scheme and the level of information that we will be looking for at the EOI and Development Phase application stage. This session will be followed by a Q&A where you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

If you are interested in attending either or both sessions, please contact grants@hes.scot to let them know what session/s you would like to attend. Please include your contact name, job title, organisation, and email address. You can read more about the Heritage & Place Programme on the Historic Environment Scotland website.
