NHS GGC and SDP win a GO Excellence in Public Procurement Award

NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde and the Supplier Development Programme have been announced as the winner of the Developing Supplier Diversity Award at the GO Excellence in Public Procurement Awards Scotland 2023.

The partnership was one of three finalists in the 'Developing Supplier Diversity' category, and was announced as the winner during the awards ceremony at the Glasgow Crowne Plaza, on 31 October, 2023. 

This new category recognises and celebrates the work of organisations who not only embrace the principles of supplier diversity and inclusion, but work to embed it into the fabric of their procurement activity.

From April to December 2022, SDP and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHS GCC) worked on a pilot project to help diversify the NHS GCC supply chain.

The project encouraged businesses owned and led by people with ‘protected characteristics’ (such as disabilities or minority group statuses) to bid for NHS GGC contracts.

The project delivered research, marketing materials and tender training webinars.
