Meet the Buyer Tayside

In Scotland around £5bn of public sector goods and services are tendered each year and contracts range from over £20m to less than £1,000. We know the procurement process can sometimes appear confusing and that many businesses are unclear how to meet local Buyers from the Public Sector. We would therefore like to invite any businesses that are looking to find out more about bidding for work from the public sector to our free Tayside Meet the Buyer event.

Dundee City Council, DDC Social Work, Perth & Kinross Council, University of Abertay, University of Dundee, Tayside Contracts, Tayside Colleges, NHS Tayside, Scotland Excel, East & Central Hub Co (inc Muirfield Contracts & BAM Construction) and Tayside Procurement Consortium.

Other exhibitors include: Public Contracts Scotland, FSB, Chamber of Commerce (Dundee & Angus) and Business Gateway.

will be available all day and are keen to meet with potential Suppliers to chat about how they go about tendering and what  they look for when buying goods and services for their organisations be it personal care, building works or catering etc.

There will also be short information sessions delivered throughout the day.

10.15am - 10.45 Public Contract Scotland (PCS). How to make best use of PCS and their website.

11.00am - 11.45am To Bid or Not to Bid, That is the BIG Question. Very few organisations have a bid/no bid process which helps them decide what opportunities to compete for. However it is important that organisations determine: whether they have a chance of winning; need a partner organisation; will make a profit; get paid on time; and if they win will they have the capacity to deliver the contract. This session will seek to discuss these issues and suggest your options should a public sector contract seem too big to win on your own.

1.15pm - 1.45pm Public Contract Scotland (PCS). How to make best use of PCS and their website.

2.00pm - 2.45pm Make Your Debrief Work for You - Asking the Right Questions. This session will consider debriefing and looks at other ways in which you can gain information from the public sector that can help with your bid.

3.00pm - 3.30pm How to Produce a Winning Bid. Enterprise North East Trust recently won a contract to deliver business support throughout Tayside. Their bid was considered an excellent example of a good bid document. Find out their secrets at this session.
