RJ McLeod win £30 million 'Ardrossan Enabling Works' contract

RJ McLeod LogoRJ McLeod has been awarded a new contract with North Ayrshire Council for the Ardrossan North Shore Development Enabling Works. This contract involves the construction of enabling works to facilitate the development of the former Ardrossan North Shore site.

The Enabling Works contract is worth more than £32 million and will play a key role in the Ardrossan Regeneration project. The works carried out in this contract will also facilitate the subsequent construction of an educational campus, as well as further residential and commercial development. 

The works are set to include the construction of:

  • Coastal revetment 
  • Coastal path
  • Utilities
  • Drainage 
  • Site wide earthworks
  • Road and parking infrastructure

In partnership with the Supplier Development Programme, RJ McLeod is set to host a free virtual Meet the Contractor event, on Wednesday 6 March 2024 at 10:30am,to discuss the goods and services they will require to complete this project. 

RJ McLeod are keen to engage with local suppliers, including social enterprises, third sector organisations, and supported businesses, that can provide the following goods and services:

  • Operated Plant: excavators, articulated dump trucks, crushing & screening plant, tractors, dozers. 
  • Non-operated plant: small tools, compressors, pumps, dumpers, 4 x 4s, rollers, generators. 
  • Materials: concrete, aggregates, sand, steel reinforcements, kerbs & paving materials, plastic pipes, concrete pipes & manhole sections. 
  • Environmental and slit materials: fencing, straw bales, posts, spill kits, chemical clean up, timber. 
  • PPE: ear protection, goggles, gloves, boots, helmets, hi-viz, waterproofs.
  • Specialist subcontractors: surfacing, utilities, builderswork, white lining, traffic management, designers, electrical works, fencers.
  • Labour only subcontractors: general operatives & ground works, steel fixing, joiners.
