Accelerating the delivery of affordable new homes: Scotland Excel

Scotland Excel is hosting a conference for local authorities and housing associations which will look at key topics relating to the Scottish Government’s commitment to building 50,000 affordable new homes by 2021.

Delegates will have an opportunity to hear from expert speakers from a range of sectors who will provide insight into the ways in which councils and housing associations can accelerate the delivery of new homes and ensure that the money invested generates significant additional value for their local areas.

The conference will also see the launch of Scotland Excel’s new build residential housing framework, developed in partnership with local authorities to significantly reduce the time it takes to engage a contractor to build new homes.

The framework has been designed to deliver benefits for local areas through sub-contracting, employment and training opportunities, and has social value at its heart through community benefits, payment of the Scottish Living Wage and opportunities for supported businesses.

The event will also incorporate a small exhibition space where delegates will have the opportunity to meet suppliers to the framework and other partners.

Registration takes place from 9.30am and the event will close at around 4.00pm with a short networking reception to celebrate the launch of the new framework.

This a free event for delegates from local government and housing associations only. Refreshments and a buffet lunch will be provided.

Scotland Excel reserves the right to refuse registrations from delegates that do not meet the eligibility criteria.
