The Netherton Hub is part of the SSEN ASTI (Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment) Offshore framework and is a Strategic development for a site located to the west of Peterhead.

Key components of the Netherton Hub include: 400kV substation, 132kV Substation, Spittal to Peterhead HVDC converter station, Eastern Green Link 3 HVDC converter station, HVDC switching station, a Spares Warehouse, Operations Depot and Store.
