The Ministry of Defence (MOD) has recently published its second Acquisition Pipeline, which offers a forward look to potential procurement activities across Defence valued at £2m and above. The next iteration of the MOD Acquisition Pipeline will be updated and published every six months.

The MOD's strategy for future procurement pipelines is outlined in its National Procurement Policy Statement (NPPS) which was published in June 2021.

The publication of future procurement pipelines can benefit all suppliers, and give more time to get "tender ready" and plan innovative and high-quality responses, while also allowing newer entrants to the market to participate, including Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

Support from the Supplier Development Programme

The MOD presented at Meet the Buyer 2022, and all suppliers are encouraged to watch the presentation to pick up handy hints and top tips on how to do business with the Ministry of Defence.

SMEs, third sector organisations and social enterprises based in Scotland can also access free resources and training to get "tender ready." Suppliers are encouraged to register free for Responding to Tender Policy Requirements - Power of Procurement on 16 November 2022, Expanding Your Business Globally – Tendering in New Markets, and Planning Your Bid – Time and Resources on 14 December 2022.
