The Positive Procurement Programme (PPP) is a joint initiative between Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Councils. Its purpose is to support local businesses to develop their capacity to bid successfully for public procurement contracts. The PPP offers training and networking opportunities. The training will cover introductory and intermediate levels, which will be of interest to businesses new to public procurement and to those who wish to develop their current practice. Examples of the training workshops available are as follows: A mock evaluation exercise exploring the difference between selection and award criteria, what buyers are looking for and what attracts the higher scores. Groups will be invited to provide their scores and justifications and the Council will work through these as a “live” example. The Intention of the work shop is to explain what happens to a tender once it is submitted and the process behind a robust and objective contract award decision. 1-2-1 personal time slots offering tailored advice and guidance with Category Managers. This is an introductory level workshop that provides advice and guidance on using the Public Contracts Scotland website. The Commercial & Procurement Services for both Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council advertise their tenders on the National Public Contracts Scotland Portal. You are encouraged to register as a supplier and download tender documents from that website. More and more Council business is being conducted electronically. If you cannot currently do business this way you should give it some serious consideration. When documents are available on the above websites, you can download them and either print them off or save them to your own computer. Although the tender documents are quite detailed, they are intended to encourage you to tender for our business.
