Social Security Scotland is an Executive Agency of Scottish Government established in 2018. It provides face-to-face support based in communities across every local authority area in Scotland. 

Social Security Scotland have a key role in creating a new social security system for Scotland alongside the Scottish Government who are setting up the policy, process and systems that Social Security Scotland will use to deliver the new social security system. Social Security Scotland are part of the wider Scottish Government and work to support it to meet the targets of the National Performance Framework.
