Earls Gate Energy Centre, a new Energy from Waste (EfW) facility at Earls Gate Park, Grangemouth. Enabling works started at the beginning of this year and construction is expected to take about three years. Commissioning will begin in 2021 and the plant will be fully operational by the end of that year.

Earls Gate Energy Centre is committed to working with the local community wherever possible and will be holding a ‘Meet the Buyer’ event on Thursday 21 March 2019 so that its procurement teams can meet local suppliers who may be interested in providing goods and services. The event will take place between 10:30am and 6:30pm at the Grange Manor Hotel, Glensburgh, Grangemouth.

If you would like to attend the event and discuss the project with some of the team members, please register by emailing info@earlsgateconstruction.co.uk.

The facility will replace an existing gas-fired energy plant that has come to the end of its operating life. It will provide heat to local industry, including chemical manufacturer, CalaChem, the utility service provider for the site, and also export electricity to the National Grid. The centre will be built through a joint venture between CNIM and Clugston. CNIM will lead the process works and Clugston the civil engineering works. Once completed, it will be operated by MES Environmental, a subsidiary of CNIM.
