To maintain its world class capabilities and to meet future requirements the Royal Navy will require even greater industrial partnership and innovation throughout the supply chain. This fact is recognised in the Defence Enterprise approach adopted in the Strategic Defence and Security Review published autumn 2015.

The University of Strathclyde is delighted to support the Royal Navy in hosting the inaugural Maritime Enterprise Innovation Scotland Conference (MEISC) which has the aim of bring together the Royal Navy, government, academia and industry to discuss innovation and innovative ideas, improve links and collaboration opportunities, share Defence ways of working and highlight the growth of innovation in Scotland across Industry.

The conference format is a morning session of speakers from government, the navy, industry and academia. The afternoon session includes the opportunity to network, interact with the industry and academia displays and obtain further information in the Accelerate, Innovate and Engage spaces.

With the theme of Innovation running throughout, the conference will allow the existing supply chain, with a particular focus on Small and medium-sized enterprises, and potential supply chain partners to understand novel ways of collaborative working which may be able to provide enhanced innovative capabilities and new routes to market.

Attendance at MEISC 2016 is by invitation only, therefore if you would like to register your interest please provide names, position, contact details and short company synopsis to corporate-events@strath.ac.uk.
