Peatland Restoration New Entrant Scheme

Thursday 4 July 2024, 2:00-3:30pm

Webinar

Peatland ACTION is a national program funded by the Scottish Government which supports the delivery of peatland restoration across Scotland. In February 2020, the Scottish Government announced a substantial, multi-annual investment in peatland restoration of more than £250 million over the next 10 years, to help meet Scotland’s target of net-zero emissions by 2045.

To meet Scotland’s ambitious targets for restoring 250,000Ha of peatland by 2030, there is a need to increase the skilled workforce available to do this work.

In order to increase the local contractor capacity to carry out peatland restoration, this contract on Glen Dye Moor is being offered to new entrants who wish to learn techniques and gain experience. The work is primarily drain blocking.

Webinar will consist of:

  • Introduction from SDP and housekeeping
  • Welcome from Nature Scot
  • Presentation giving you a clear understanding of the Peatland Restoration - New Entrant Scheme at Glen Dye Moor
  • Live Q&A
