41 organisations exhibiting at this year's Meet the Buyer event

The Supplier Development Programme would like to announce that 25 out of the 32 Scottish local authorities will be exhibiting at the Meet the Buyer 2022 event on 15 June. Each local authority attending will have its own virtual exhibition stand. There will also be some private sector organisations which will also have virtual stands.

The event will be open all day, from 10:00am – 4:00pm, with staff always available to talk to in the virtual exhibition hall. When visiting a virtual stand, attendees can either pick an exhibitor to speak with, or join the exhibition queue and the next available staff member will connect. While a business is waiting in the queue, each exhibitor will have different digital materials to download and view.

Please note that once a business is in a queue, if you leave it, you will lose your place and have to re-join from the bottom of the queue.

Suppliers are encouraged to read more information on each exhibitor, and what can be expected at each exhibition.

Local Authorities

Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeenshire, and Highland Council Shared Procurement Service

Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeenshire Council, and Highland Council will be sharing an exhibition stand under the Commercial & Procurement Shared Service (C&PSS). The Service was formed as the three councils produce goods, works, and services annually amounting to over £1 billion. Depending on the strategic importance of the tender, it will either be undertaken by the Service, or by the Commercial & Procurement Shared Service. Pop by the virtual exhibition stand to find out more about C&PSS and future contract opportunities across the three local authority areas.

Dundee City Council will have two exhibition stands, so that suppliers can learn more about doing business with Dundee City Council. One exhibition will be staffed by the Dundee City Council Procurement team, and the other by Dundee City Council’s Construction procurement staff. The exhibits are separate to ensure suppliers can connect with the right area of work straight away. Representatives from Dundee City Council will also be involved in the live Q&A for Scotland Excel’s Repair, Maintenance and Refurbishment presentation at 10:45am on the Community Wealth Building (Supply Chain) stage.

East Dunbartonshire Council

The exhibits are separate to ensure suppliers can connect with the right area of work straight away. A representative from the Scottish Government will be delivering a presentation, Myth Busting: How sustainable procurement meets the Community Wealth Building Brief on the Community Wealth Building Stage in the afternoon of the event. While another representative from the Scottish Government will be presenting on the Sustainable Procurement stage with a presentation on Climate Change and Procurement with Scottish Government. This presentation will be followed by a live Q&A session.

The presentation will not be followed by a live question and answer session.
