New Scottish Procurement Policy Note: Procurement activity during the Scottish Parliament election period (2/2021)
Posted on 12 March 2021 at 14:35
The Scottish Parliament election is on the 6 May 2021. Scottish Procurement has released a new Scottish Procurement Policy Note 1/2021, which states procurement staff need to take careful consideration when conducting business during the formal Scottish election period, which runs from 25 March until 6 May.
The key point:
- Procurement staff are reminded that procurement announcements or decisions might be affected by the restrictions that will be in place during the election period.
On 15
February the Scottish Government published guidance
on the handing of business up to and during the election period which applies to the Scottish Government, its agencies and
national devolved public bodies.
On top of this, Procurement staff are advised to read their
own organisation’s guidance on the conduct of business during the Scottish
election period and to be mindful when handling announcement and/or significant
decisions, as these can come under guidelines applicable during the election period.
SPPN 2/2021 can be read in full on the Scottish Government website.
