Meet the Buyer logo

The Meet the Buyer 2021: Live Virtual Event is scheduled for Tuesday, 8 June and the Supplier Development Programme could not be more excited! Meet the Buyer is a chance for micro, small and medium businesses to have unprecedented one-to-one access to public and private sector decision makers and influencers.

The Supplier Development Programme has announced that nearly 60 public and private sector organisations will exhibit at Meet the Buyer 2021. In addition to headline partners Scottish Government and Scotland Excel, ere is a little bit about what a few of the organisations do and what suppliers can expect at Meet the Buyer.

Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service

Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service (SCTS) is an independent corporate body, and its function is to provide administrative support to Scottish courts and tribunals, and to the judiciary of courts. Visit the SCTS virtual exhibition stand to hear about future contract opportunities and where to find them.

It operates and maintains 207 lighthouses and 170 buoys as well as providing radio aids to navigation (AtoN). Transport Scotland

Transport Scotland logo

Transport Scotland is the national transport agency for Scotland. Procurement underpins much of the delivery of its priorities and has an impact on its performance and success. At the Transport Scotland stand, suppliers will learn how community benefits and supported businesses are being utilised in the delivery of its projects, and how best to engage for future contract opportunities.

Connecting with Transport Scotland

Due to cyber security requirements, there is an additional step for suppliers to take to connect with the Transport Scotland stand representatives during Meet the Buyer. An exhibition stand notification will state that it is not possible to connect using the live one-to-one video button. Therefore, suppliers should message stand staff representatives through the chat function to ask if they would like to participate in a video call. After a short conversation, suppliers will be given a URL link to a Teams meeting. The supplier must copy and paste the link into a new browser window to connect for a face-to-face virtual meeting with Transport Scotland.

The Supplier Development Programme understands that this extra step may be burdensome; however, in this virtual world we are doing our utmost to ensure participation of buyers and decision makers whilst balancing cyber resilience.
