Public sector opportunities on the horizon for new build housing specialists with SPA

Row of two story houses

Contractors are being sought to help shape a £1.5 billion new build housing framework that will be launching later this year.

The New Build Housing Construction (H2) framework from the Scottish Procurement Alliance (SPA), LHC, Consortium Procurement Construction (CPC), will cover public sector projects in Scotland, North and Central England, and London and South East England.

It will deliver a range of traditional housing as well as low, medium and high-rise construction, sheltered, student and keyworker accommodation, care homes and mixed use sites. Associated civil engineering and infrastructure works required for new build housing and net zero buildings will also be covered under the framework.

Planned Housing Lots

  • New build housing – low rise up to 11m to top floor height
  • High rise developments with floor heights above 11m
  • Construction of care homes
  • Refurbishment, Conversions, Extensions and Adaptions
  • Groundworks and preparation for new build sites
  • Major infrastructure for new build housing sites

Graham Collie, SPA Technical Support Manager, said:

“The new H2 framework will build on the success of the outgoing H1 framework. There is a growing demand for frameworks that deliver solutions which will meet the ongoing housing challenges within the public sector, while prioritising the importance of the wider societal benefits that can be achieved through placemaking that support social, human, environmental and production value.”

In partnership with the Supplier Development Programme, Talking Tenders with the Scottish Procurement Alliance (SPA) will be held as a free webinar on Tuesday, 16 February for interested developers and contractors in Scotland. This session will give an overview of the proposed framework and will give interested parties the opportunity to feedback on the framework before its scope and structure are finalised.
