Scotland Excel announces new national framework for Electrical Vehicle Charging Infrastructures

Scotland Excel has recently published an Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Prior Information Notice (PIN), in preparation of the launch of the first national framework to source the supply, installation and maintenance of electric vehicle charging points.

The framework is anticipated to provide councils, and other participating bodies, quick and efficient access to suppliers that have gone through the tender process. The framework will provide councils with a mechanism to produce a range of works, products and services, including the supply installation and maintenance of EV charging points and additional items (e.g. solar canopies, battery storage solutions) for depots, fleets and workplaces and on street-and off-street units.

The contract will be divided into four Lots, each Lot is as follows:

  • Lot 1 – Supply, Installation and Maintenance of EV Charging Infrastructure (including removal)
  • Lot 2 – Supply Only of EVCPs and Additional Items
  • Lot 3 – Installation of EVCPs and Associated Products (including removal)
  • Lot 4 – Maintenance of EVCPs and Associated Products

The PIN has been published on Public Contracts Scotland to let potential suppliers know the framework is being developed, and the contract's estimated date of publication is 29 June 2021.
