Over the next couple of months, the Scottish Government will be sharing a number of video case studies focusing on supplier engagement. Its latest video series highlights rural SMEs using the power of procurement to grow its business and bring benefits to its local communities.

The Scottish Government’s first video features Levenseat, - a resource management company based in rural South Lanarkshire. Over the past 20 years, Levenseat has grown its work with the public sector from winning its first contract to today working with over half of the local authorities in Scotland.

Levenseat has recently joined the Supplier Development Programme as a Corporate Member to connect with more than 18,000 registered SMEs, Supported Businesses, Third Sector Organisations and Social Enterprises.

So far with its membership Levenseat has exhibited at last year’s National Meet the Buyer event giving them the chance to connect with over 500 suppliers from across Scotland and beyond.

Levenseat’s Managing Director, Angus Hamilton said,

“We are so pleased to be joining the Supplier Development Programme as a corporate member, we remember well our first local authority contract win and how daunting the procurement process can be for an SME. We now work in partnership with over 50% of Scotland’s local authorities and we are looking forward to passing on some of the lessons we’ve learned along the way. Levenseat has a long history of working with local SMEs as part of our sustainable procurement duty and we are hoping to continue to strengthen our supply chain through the Supplier Development Programme.”
