SDP Attend Scottish Government’s Public Service Reform Summit

PSRSThe Supplier Development Programme (SDP) was invited along to the Scottish Government ‘Public Service Reform Summit’, on Monday 17 February 2025, at the Technology & Innovation Centre, Glasgow.

The Public Service Reform Summit brought together leadership from key public sector bodies, the third sector, and other representatives of the wider economy, to discuss public service reform and create a vision for a shared approach to improving public services.

The event featured presentations and Q&A sessions from Ivan McKee MSP, Minister for Public Finance, Councillor Steven Heddle, COSLA Vice-President, Jennifer Henderson, Chief Executive at Registers of Scotland, amongst others.

In an interview with BBC Radio’s Good Morning Scotland, Public Finance Minister Ivan McKee said that the event was about “making sure everyone is focused on the common direction, understanding how we learn from each other, being radical where we have to be, making big changes where it makes sense to do so”.

Ivan McKee MSP also told the programme that the government wanted to make the public sector as “efficient and as effective as possible, delivering excellent public services within the financial envelope that we’ve got”.

Representatives from the Supplier Development Programme were delighted to attend the Summit, to network with key leaders of public bodies, the third sector and other representatives of the wider economy to discuss the role of SDP, as a national support body.

SDP’s Programme Manager Gillian Cameron was thrilled to join the ‘Collaboration’ workshop, sharing insights into how SDP collaborates with our public sector partners across Scotland, to bring free tendering support to Scottish SMEs, supporting the national Community Wealth Building agenda.
