SDP welcomes inclusion in the latest Scottish Government Procurement Report

Scottish Government Procurement Report

The Supplier Development Programme (SDP) has welcomed the latest Procurement Report from the Scottish Government.

SDP is mentioned in Section 7, as an example of the Governments approach to engaging SMEs, the third sector and supported businesses.

The Scottish Government Annual Procurement report covers the Scottish Government’s procurement activity from 2020 to 2021. The report demonstrates how the Government is performing against its Procurement Strategy and leading by example – delivering procurement policy and capability across the Scottish public sector.

A new blog is featured on the Scottish Procurement and Property website, which features a short film with key highlights from the report that may be of interest to suppliers.

Support from the Supplier Development Programme

The Supplier Development Programme supports the Scottish Government’s Procurement Strategy by helping to ensure all public sector procurement is open and connected to all SMEs, third sector organisations, and supported businesses wherever they are based in Scotland.

Led by all 32 Scottish local authorities, SDP helps business that have little or no experience of tendering or are often too small to have dedicated bid team to contemplate bidding for public sector contracts. SDP aims to help such businesses become “tender ready” for contracts, which improves their prospects when competing throughout Scotland where there is an annual public spend of £13.3 billion.
