The Supplier Development Programme has scheduled the first ever webinar on “Talking Tenders with the Scottish Procurement Alliance (SPA)” on 19 May. The SPA is keen to engage with as many companies as possible throughout Scotland, particularly SMEs and supported businesses, as part of crucial development of its frameworks.

Open Bidding Opportunities with the SPA

SPA has several opportunities in the pipeline over the next year.

One current open opportunity includes the re-procurement to replace the SPA’s popular Schools and Community Buildings Framework, which will be for the provision of construction services for new build, extensions, and refurbishment of schools and community buildings.

Another opportunity is for the Modular Building Framework which will encompass a full turnkey solution including the design, supply, install, and commission of both permanent and temporary modular buildings.

Other opportunities due to be released in the next couple of months are a Roofing Framework and a Communal Entrance Doorsets Framework.

Whole House Refurbishment DPS

The SPA's OJEU-compliant Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) is an open market solution designed to provide buyers with access to a pool of prequalified suppliers in respect of building works, goods and services for use in public sector refurbishment and maintenance projects. The duration of this DPS is for four years with the option to extend for an additional four years, up to a maximum of eight years.

There are six categories of works:

  • Kitchens and bathrooms and associated works
  • Landscaping
  • Electrical works
  • Painting and decoration
  • Heating Services
  • Multi-disciplinary (Installation of whole house internal and external works as defined in, but not limited to, the above categories of work).

The DPS will generally apply to minor building works projects valued up to £250,000 per project. For regions outside the central belt of Scotland such as the Highlands or Borders, SPA Partners can use the DPS with no upper limit restriction. Suppliers interested in bidding for a place on the DPS can seek further information on the SPA website.

Free Webinar for Suppliers

All suppliers are encouraged to register for Talking Tenders with the Scottish Procurement Alliance (SPA) on 19 May at 10:30am. During this free webinar from the Supplier Development Programme, suppliers will have an opportunity to connect with Lesley Anderson, Head of SPA Procurement, and Dean Fazackerley, LHC Group Procurement Manager. Topics to be discussed include how SPA fits into the LHC Group, why SPA joined the Supplier Development Programme, an overview of future opportunities with SPA and the LHC Group, and how to bid with a tutorial on ProContract.
