The Supplier Development Programme (SDP) is a Local Authority Partnership Programme established to offer small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) the opportunity to grow and diversity through procurement. In addition to building contacts with potential organisations, sectors and projects to create new business opportunities, you will write business membership proposals, maintain knowledge of all service offerings and workings of SDP, arrange and conduct meetings with prospective organisations and existing stakeholders and partners, and provide on-going membership services to new and existing SDP membership organisations in conjunction with the full SDP team.

Are you the right candidate for the job?

The candidate will have well developed and comprehensive IT skills, with the ability to create and produce reports on activities delivered and ideally experience of using a website content management system. You will be a good communicator, able to support the Programme Manager by networking effectively to further develop strong working relationships the Local Authority partners, Scottish Government, Business Support Agencies and procurement bodies. You must clearly demonstrate the ability to manage multiple stakeholders of varying seniority.

Where will you be based?

The Supplier Development Programme is hosted by South Lanarkshire Council on behalf of all 32 Scottish local authorities. During the pandemic, the SDP Team has been working remotely and therefore, consideration and support on flexible working arrangements will be given to the successful applicant.
