SDP Raises Awareness of NHS National Community Benefit Gateway Portal for Glasgow

NHS GGCThe Supplier Development Programme (SDP) is working with NHS Greater Glasgow, and Clyde (NHSGGC) and NHSGGC Public Health, to help suppliers and Third Sector Organisations (TSOs) better understand how to use the NHS National Community Benefit Gateway (NCBG) portal for Glasgow.

The NCBG web portal was developed and launched by NHS Scotland National Services (NSS) to link national NHS contracts to local community benefit needs.

Working with NHSGGC and its Public Health colleagues, SDP will deliver a programme of webinars to improve TSOs' submissions on the NCBG for Glasgow.

These webinars will focus on bid writing, and tailored support to make TSOs' community benefit applications on NCBG portal more attractive to larger NHS contractors, to encourage them to adopt them in their bids and eventually deliver them throughout the course of contracts.

The SDP NCBG webinars are ideal for those working in TSOs, such as:

  • Registered charities
  • Co-op and mutuals
  • Supported businesses
  • Social firms
  • Community Interest Groups (CIGs)
  • Development trusts
  • Credit unions
  • Registered social landlords

If your organisation falls into one of these categories, then why not join the training!

SDP Encourages Local Businesses to Supply Goods, Works and Services to NHSGGC

nhs procurement picEach region of Scotland has a Health Board with its own procurement department. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) covers six local authority areas in the Glasgow City Region and has an annual budget of £4.4bn.

NHSGGC covers

  • East Dunbartonshire
  • East Renfrewshire
  • Glasgow City
  • Inverclyde
  • Renfrewshire
  • West Dunbartonshire.

SDP and NHSGGC want to encourage more SME suppliers to join its supply chain, by highlighting the wide range of opportunities tendered by the NHS, through training webinars and networking events that debunk the notion that the NHS only procures medical or pharmaceutical requirements.

About SDP

SDP is a business support initiative supported by Scottish Government, and all 32 Scottish local authorities, as well as other public and private sector organisations.

SDP helps businesses bid better when they have little or no experience tendering for public sector contracts, or are too small to have dedicated bid team.

Simply, SDP is a free service to support Scottish SMEs, supported businesses and third sector organisations become tender ready for contracts.
