North Ayrshire Council procures an array of goods, services, and works. The Corporate Procurement Unit (CPU) ensures that purchases demonstrate value for money, and contracts are awarded fairly in line with procurement legislation and North Ayrshire Council's Standing Orders relating to Contracts document. 

The procurement process is open and transparent. 

Our vision is "To use our spending power to maximise social, environmental, and economic benefit for the people of North Ayrshire and support sustainable, diverse, and local supply chains." 

Our mission is to "utilise our procurement expertise and experience to provide solutions that support local and national objectives for inclusive, wealthier, and sustainable communities." 

North Ayrshire Council's Supplier Development Programme provides support to local businesses in 3 main ways:

• Raising awareness of the opportunities for SMEs from the public sector.
• Increasing business readiness to tender.
• Assisting SMEs in accessing tender opportunities
