Construction and Trades framework £242m

GLASGOW City Council has launched a tender process for £242 million worth of construction, civil engineering and road infrastructure projects that are due to get under way in and around the city between 2019 and 2022.

Bids are being sought from contractors that can deliver across a broad spectrum of works including road surfacing, bridge and structural works and playground installation.

Successful bidders will be appointed to the overall framework in May 2019 and will have to bid for underlying contracts on an ongoing basis.  The first contract-specific tenders are expected to begin in the middle of next year.

Council leader Susan Aitken said: “These major contracts will bring jobs and opportunities for local people and organisations to work on projects that improve Glasgow’s economy in the short and long-term.”

Further details of the tender process can be found at: https://www.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk/search/show/search_view.aspx?ID=AUG328396

Those appointed to the overall panel will be able to bid for contracts over a three-year period, with the potential for a 12-month extension at the end. The Glasgow contracts form part of a wider local authority procurement framework that is run in partnership with North Lanarkshire and Renfrewshire councils.
