Supplier Needed for Glasgow Life’s Redevelopment of the People’s Palace and Winter Garden!

Glasgow Life is looking to appoint a multidisciplinary Museum Design and Delivery Team (MDDT) to support the redevelopment of the People’s Palace and Winter Garden, located on Glasgow Green, Glasgow.

The project includes major building restoration and refurbishment works, new museum displays with indoor and outdoor interpretation developed through community input, and an improved visitor experience, including a new café and retail offer.

The contract is currently expected to run from the beginning of 2027, with close-out activities completed in 2030.

A Prior Information Notice (PIN) has been published on Public Contracts Scotland (PCS) where interested parties can access additional information and express their interest.

The requirement is for a design-led, multidisciplinary team to provide:

• Museum and exhibition design services
• Creative direction
• Construction management
• Cost management services

The appointed team will work collaboratively with Glasgow Life, community stakeholders, architects, specialist consultants and funders during the delivery of the project.

The project continuation is subject to confirmation of a funding award from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. A decision is expected in early October 2026. If the funding is not secured, the contract will not proceed.
