Dumfries & Galloway Meet the Buyer is back and is perfect for those hoping to work with the council. The free event gives local suppliers the opportunity to make their business known to the D&G Council teams, as well as other exhibitors.

On the day, you will be able to meet contractors from the following Dumfries and Galloway Council departments:

  • Facilities, Waste and Neighbourhood Services
  • Procurement
  • Property, Estates and Programmes
  • Social Work Services, Children and Families
  • Social Work Services, Strategic Planning & Transformation
  • Transport and Operations

Buyers from these teams will be on the lookout for suppliers who can provide goods and services across sectors such as construction, technology, transport, infrastructure, education, social care, fleet and waste.

Technology contracts

With over 20 new opportunities in the pipeline for technology suppliers, Dumfries & Galloway Council is committed to modernising its service delivery and protecting data security. These include a £480,000 Telephony Licensing with Support & Maintenance contract and a Cyber Security Protection contract worth £285,000. If your business operates in IT, communications or cybersecurity, this is a great chance to establish a relationship with one of Scotland’s largest local authorities.

Social care contracts

Among the Council’s 2026/27 planned social care tenders two high-value opportunities stand out: the Third Sector Social Care Alliance open tender worth £3 million, and the Mental Health Outreach Support Services contract valued at £2.4 million.

Education contracts

Several education contracts are also due to go live in 2026/2027. Childcare providers will not want to miss the re-opening of the Early Learning & Childcare Brokerage Framework (nursery provision), valued at £28.9 million.

The School Trips and Outings Framework will also be established during this time, to help children and young people access wider learning experiences. Waste contracts

Driven by the commitment to the Council’s Waste, Recycling and Re-use Strategy for 2023–2030, upcoming waste sector procurements include a WUDS Offtakes contract worth £1 million, and a Maintenance, Repairs and Emergency Services contract for the Lochar-Moss MBT facility valued at £680,000.

If you operate in the automotive materials and fleet maintenance sectors, can enquire about the upcoming £2.8 million Vehicle Parts or the £1 million Tyres provision contract, so you are ready to compete for these opportunities once they go to tender.
