Provide Support Services to Adult and Young Carers Living in South Lanarkshire Council

South Lanarkshire Council LogoSouth Lanarkshire Council is looking to appoint suitable suppliers to support Adult Carers and Young Carers residing in the region. The successful suppliers will offer a personalised range of direct and indirect services based on carers’ needs and goals. 

 

As per the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016:

  • an Adult carer is a carer who is at least 18 years old but is not a young carer (see below)
  • a Young carer is a carer who is either under 18 years old or has turned 18 while still at school and has remained a pupil at that or another school since.

The service providers will deliver a wide range of preventative approaches, enable Adult Carers and Young Carers to achieve their outcomes and ensure their rights are met.

This contract has been split into 2 Lots, with one supplier being awarded per Lot.

Lot 1 - Adult Carers Support Service

The service will offer:

  • Engagement and empowerment activities, information and representation services.
  • Training, short breaks, information, advice and Adult Carer Support Plans.
  • Preventative approaches to help Adult Carers achieve their outcomes, have a life alongside caring, and maintain their own health and wellbeing.

Lot value excluding VAT: £4.360 million

Lot 2 - Young Carers Support Service

The service will offer:

  • Engagement and empowerment activities, information and representation services and will connect Young Carers to their communities.
  • A range of support including 1-to-1, group work, short breaks and in-school support.
  • Training, information and advice, and Young Carer Statements.
  • Preventative approaches to enable Young Carers achieve their goals, have a life similar to that of other young people, and stay healthy, safe, nurtured, included, active, achieving and responsible.

Lot value excluding VAT: £1.365 million

The estimated total value of this contract excluding VAT is £5.725 million

contract notice has been published on Public Contracts Scotland (PCS), although interested parties will need to register with PCS-T to access additional information and express their interest.

The time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is Friday 11 September 2026 at 12pm.
