Scottish Police Authority Seeks Contractor for Refurbishment of Ben Lomond View
The Scottish Police Authority wishes to appoint a suitably qualified contractor to deliver the works package for the refurbishment of Ben Lomond View, so that police operations can be relocated to a building with better facilities for staff and the public.
Greenock’s current police station was built around 1970. While it has played an important role in policing the Inverclyde area, it has become outdated over the years. The building shows its age, and it can’t properly support the newer technologies, equipment, and working practices required by modern policing.
For this reason, the plan is to move the police station out of its current building and into a different nearby property, Ben Lomond View on Pottery Street, Greenock. The Police Authority will lease this new site from Riverside Inverclyde, and it’s planning to refurbish it so it’s suitable for years to come.
Phase 1 of building works includes:
- A new public entrance and reception area
- On the ground floor: updating existing rooms, including the creation of large locker rooms with showers, a new muster room and a kitchen
- On the first floor: new modular offices, a gym, and a large training room
- Changes to the car park layout
- Replacement/installation of building fabric and MEP systems (that’s the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure) wherever needed
- Any related groundwork/construction work needed to make all of this happen
A contract notice has been published on Public Contracts Scotland (PCS), although interested parties will need to register with PCS-T to access additional information and express their interest.
The time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is Monday 21 September 2026 at 12 noon.
