Check Out Procurement Journey’s Guidance to Help Buyers Manage Contracts
If you are a Scottish public sector buyer wanting to get the best value for money for your organisation, the Procurement Journey’s Contract and Supplier Management (CSM) guidance is definitely worth a look.
Procurement Journey is a Sc
ottish Government online tool that helps public bodies keep up to date with changes in legislation and policy. If you’re a buyer, their new CSM guidance could help you:
- Manage contracts effectively from the get-go
- Improve your relationships with suppliers
- Handle changes and risks during the contract
- Support the delivery of policy outcomes, such as sustainability, fair work, and community benefits
How to Access the CSM Guidance
Based on the type of contract, Procurement Journey offers three routes:
- Route 1 - low value (under £50k), low risk and non-repetitive contracts.
- Route 2 - regulated procurements between £50k and up to the GPA Procurement threshold.
- Route 3 - regulated procurements equal to the GPA Procurement threshold and above.
Each route contains information and templates on how to manage different contracts. You can find the right CSM information for your case by selecting the relevant route and clicking on ‘Begin Journey’.
Using the CSM Guidance
When planning to procure goods or services for a public sector organisation, the guidance can be a useful tool, as it includes:
- Examples of what successful contract and supplier management looks like
- Case studies, FAQs, tools and templates to best manage performance, relationships, change and exit
- Contract and supplier management guidance for non-procurement staff
Scottish Government is interested in hearing your opinion on how the guidance can be further improved. You can find a feedback form at the end of this blog page.
You can also meet with the Scottish Government Procurement and Property team in person, by visiting their stand at Meet the Buyer National, on 2 June at the Doubletree by Hilton Glasgow City Centre; book your place here.
