DunoonPartner Event

Argyll and Bute Council will shortly be tendering for two significant contracts in Rothesay and Dunoon as part of the Argyll and Bute CHORD regeneration programme; Queen's Hall and Rothesay Pavilion. In support of these forthcoming contract opportunities, Argyll and Bute Council will be holding two Meet The Buyer events at the end of June.

The first event concerns the Queen's Hall building in Dunoon. The current Queen’s Hall building, opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on 11 August 1958, occupies a significant position, stop ending the Argyll Street shopping area; facing the esplanade, Castle gardens and well connected to a number of important townscape landmarks or facilities: the Old Pier, the Castle House Museum and the passenger ferry terminal. The re-developed Queens Hall will be designed to act as a “focal point” for the local community and will be a “gateway” facility for visitors, through co-location of a range of services (e.g. Visit Scotland Visitor Information Centre, Skills Development Scotland and the Dunoon Public Library). The estimated contract value for the works associated with this building is in the region of £6m to £7m

These events will offer interested contractors and subcontractors the chance to meet the project teams and find out more about the forthcoming contract opportunities associated with the upgrade of these buildings. The events will last approximately 2.5 hours each.
