Wean's World: Procurement Time

Through the Supplier Development Programme, North Lanarkshire Council arranged for two Public Contracts Scotland training sessions in March 2019 to provide practical assistance to SMEs interested in apply for a place on its 1140 Hours interim Framework.
Weans World Childminding participated in this free training and was SDP’s featured SME business for the month of March 2019. Weans World Childminding confirmed that its bid was successful in June 2019.
Weans World was established in 2011 and is located in Shawhead, Coatbridge.
Success stories: Cleaners Solutions

Cleaners Solutions are CSCS trained cleaners who provide office, home, site and commercial cleaning services. They have been making use of SDP’s training and support for 6 months and have accessed 5 courses in that time taking them through all of our level one course and some of our policy webinars.
They stated that “the main benefit of engaging with SDP is point by point education on buyers expectations and ways to meet expectations moving forward with a view to winning contracts”.
East Renfrewshire & Renfrewshire Supplier Event
Over 200 suppliers filled Paisley Town Hall on 29th August 2016 to find out more about opportunities arising from the Glasgow City Region City Deal.
SME’s had the opportunity to network with large contractors and gain a better understanding of their supply chain processes, before speakers gave presentations on a range of topics.
Following the presentations, an open ‘marketplace’ offered delegates the chance to speak one-to-one with representatives from all City Deal areas, as well as support organisations including Public Contracts Scotland.
Inverclyde Supplier Event
The Supplier Development Programme (SDP) supported Inverclyde Council to host a free information session regarding the Glasgow City Region City Deal.
The event took place at the Beacon Arts Centre, Greenock on Thursday 16th June 2016.
This free event aiedm to raise awareness of the projects and potential opportunities arising from the City Deal and of the training & support on offer to help SME’s, contractors and suppliers get ‘tender ready’.
Glasgow Supplier Event
Over 230 suppliers filled Glasgow Chambers’ Banqueting Hall on 25th January 2016 to find out more about opportunities arising from the Glasgow and Clyde Valley City Deal.
SME’s had the opportunity to network with large contractors and gain a better understanding of their supply chain processes, before speakers from Glasgow City Council, the City Deal PMO and the Supplier Development Programme gave presentations on a range of topics.
