Ground Preparation and Mechanised Establishment Operations

Thursday 13 January 2022, 2:00-3:30pm

Partner Event

Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) will shortly be releasing a tender for Ground Preparation and Mechanised Establishment Operations. This tender has been designed in response to feedback received from a Prior Information Notice dated 24 June 2020, wider stakeholder engagement and FLS business need. It represents a major shift towards longer term strategic contractual arrangements to support and contribute to our biodiversity, climate emergency mitigation, social, cultural and silvicultural objectives. The tender enables us to establish new tree crops, maintain the volume of timber brought to market and enable woodland creation.

Some key tender details to help you prepare for release of the tender are as follows:

  • There will be 14 Lots available, you can bid for up to 6 Lots.
  • Payment of the Real Living Wage is a mandatory condition of award.
  • Bidding restrictions apply. These restrictions are detailed in the PCS Contract Notice, issued in December 2021 and Invitation To Tender.
  • The contract term is a maximum of 5 years (3 years + 2 x 12 month optional extensions).

Suppliers will learn more about requirements for sustainability, Fair Work and community benefits, as well as tips on building sustainable pricing structures into your bid for the longevity of the contract.

One of SDP's expert trainers will also give a live demonstration of the PCS-Tender portal, ensuring that you have the skills you need to bid.  You'll learn how to submit questions to the buyer through the portal, upload attachments and more.  You'll also have the opportunity to ask the trainer any questions you have about bidding, and have them answered.
