Historic Environment Scotland Seeks Supplier for Ecological Surveys

Historic Environment Scotland is looking for a supplier to conduct ecological surveys across the HES estate. The estimated annual volume of surveys is 40 sites per annum, however, there is no guarantee of minimum volumes given.

The services required include:

• Undertaking ecological surveys, including protected species surveys and, where required, preliminary ecological appraisals, as directed by HES’s in-house ecology specialists.
• Providing ecological advice to support maintenance, conservation and capital works, in alignment with guidance issued by HES’s in-house ecology specialists.

The selected supplier will undertake ecological surveys in accordance with recognised industry standards.

All survey requirements including the type, methodology and scope of any ecological work, shall be defined following advice from HES’s in-house ecology specialists.

The time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is Friday 31 July 2026 at 12 noon.

A contract notice has been published on Public Contracts Scotland, although interested parties will need to register with PCS-T to access additional information and express their interest.
