Could You Provide Support Services to Families Affected by Parental Substance Abuse in the Edinburgh City Council Region?

The City of Edinburgh Council Logo Through the Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership (EHSCP), Edinburgh City Council along with the Edinburgh Alcohol and Drug Partnership (EADP) intend to tender for the provision of a city-wide whole family support service for families affected by parental substance abuse.

The support service will be required to provide support in improving parenting capacity and the understanding of children’s needs, specifically offering:

  • Support for parents to engage in drug and alcohol treatment and support to reduce, stabilise or cease their substance use as appropriate.
  • Welfare, benefits, housing and debt advice.
  • Liaison with other community-based agencies and supports.
  • Advocacy within forums such as LAAC reviews, Children’s Hearings and through the Child Protection process.

The estimated total value of this contract is £2,122,680.
