Currently Operating a Children’s Home within Dumfries and Galloway Council?

Dumfries and Galloway Council is currently scoping the creation of 4-bedroom children’s homes within the area. To help this process, the Council is keen to carry out some market research with organisations who operate children’s homes.

More specifically, the market research from the providers should help in determining the operating and financial model of two 4-bedroom children’s homes in Dumfries and Galloway, with one home within the West of the region and the other within the East.

Dumfries and Galloway council is looking to gain information on:

• The operational requirements within a home; what providers can offer.
• The staffing compliment required to operate a 4-bedroom home.
• How care would be delivered within a provider-led yet council-owned/leased children’s home.

The estimated date of publication for a contract notice is Monday 11 January 2027.
