South Ayrshire seeks Independent Advocacy Service for Adults

South Ayrshire Council is seeking suitable suppliers for the provision of an Independent Advocacy Service for Adults.

Bidders must be eligible to work with adults, aged 16 and over, with:

• Mental health conditions
• Learning disabilities
• Neurodivergent conditions (including autism)
• Dementia
• Connection to the Alcohol and Drug Partnership

Bidders should be able to provide a wide range of advocacy services, that are compliant with statutory requirements and the Independent Advocacy Guide for Commissioners, including:

• Individual advocacy, also known as one-to-one, professional or issue-based advocacy, whereby an advocate supports a person on a specific issue by providing support and information, but not advice.
• Collective advocacy, whereby a group of people can raise shared concerns and receive support to campaign against them.
• Instructed advocacy, whereby an individual can still advocate for themselves but require support and guidance.
• Non-instructed advocacy, whereby an advocate acts on behalf of an individual ensuring their best interests are upheld.

A contract notice has been published on Public Contract Scotland (PCS), where additional information can be accessed and potential bidders can express their interest.

Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is Thursday 19 February 2026 at 12pm.
