Comhairle nan Eilean Siar seeks supplier for Bennadrove Landfill Waste Disposal Cell H Construction

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar is seeking suitable providers of waste disposal site construction works for the Bennadrove Landfill Waste Disposal Cell H on the Isle of Lewis.

The contract covers the following works:

• Earthworks – including the removal of peat, glazier till and fractured rock.
• Peat Storage – storing all removed peat in bespoke constructed bays for reuse during closed cell restoration.
• Unsaturated Zone – placing free draining infill material to form cell base above groundwater level.
• Perimeter Bunds – placing free draining infill material to form cell perimeter bunds.
• Mineral Barrier – placing Bentonite Enriched Soil (BES) on cell base.
• Basal Liner – placing High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) liner on cell base.
• Leachate Drainage – placing clean aggregate as a drainage blanket on basal liner.
• Leachate Collection – placing collection chambers and transfer pipework.
• Mechanical & Electrical – placing electrical cable ducts, pumps, controls and lighting.

The time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is Thursday 06 August 2026 at 2pm.

A contract notice  has been published on Public Contracts Scotland, although interested parties will need to register with PCS-T to access additional information and express their interest.
