Supplier Development Programme welcomes Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited Aboard

The Supplier Development Programme (SDP) is delighted to formally welcome Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL) as its newest affiliate member.

Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd

Wholly owned by the Scottish Minister, CMAL owns and manages the ferries, ports, harbours, and essential infrastructure that support vital ferry services across Scotland’s west coast, the Clyde Estuary, and the Northern Isles.

SDP and CMAL’s partnership is already off to a great start, with the delivery of three market engagement events in Oban, Gourock and Stornoway. These in-person events provided suppliers with a valuable opportunity to help shape the future of procurement strategies at CMAL, whilst also accessing procurement support from SDP.

Additionally, CMAL was a popular addition to SPD’s Meet the Buyer North event in Aberdeen, giving suppliers in the north of Scotland the opportunity to meet some of the CMAL team face-to-face.

Through this partnership, SDP looks forward to working with CMAL to further engage the supply chain once the engineering framework goes live and beyond.

Gillian Cameron, SDP Programme Manager, said:

“We’re delighted to welcome CMAL as an affiliate member of SDP this year. From the outset, it’s been clear that the CMAL team shares our commitment to giving Scottish SMEs the best possible chance to bid for supply chain opportunities.

They’ve already shown themselves to be active and engaged members, and the entire SDP team looks forward to building on this partnership as we move into 2026.”

Marion Shaw, Procurement Manager from CMAL said:

“Becoming an SDP affiliate member strengthens our commitment to opening tendering opportunities to a wider and more diverse range of suppliers. With SDP’s support, we can further engage SMEs, broaden our supply chain and increase awareness of upcoming projects, ultimately driving greater value for the communities and stakeholders who rely on Scotland’s ferry network. We look forward to building on this partnership as we continue to deliver vital infrastructure work across the west of Scotland.”
