Supporting Crown Commercial Service’s SME Action Plan Across Scotland
Crown Commercial Service (CCS) has recently launched its refreshed SME Action Plan, aimed at removing barriers and expanding opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises across the UK.

The updated plan sets out seven targeted actions CCS will undertake over the next 12 to 18 months to reduce and remove barriers to SMEs bidding for government contracts . These include supporting regional Government ‘Meet the Buyer’ events, publishing tailored guidance, increasing visibility of upcoming tenders, enhancing access to spend data and increasing signposting to the Central Digital Platform.
As valued members of the Supplier Development Programme (SDP), we’re working alongside CCS to help Scottish SMEs stay informed, prepared, and confident when bidding for government contracts. This support has already included CCS’s attendance at our ‘Meet the Buyer’ events throughout the year, providing Scottish SMEs with direct access to CCS representatives, insights into upcoming opportunities, and practical advice on navigating the procurement process.
Our shared goal is to foster a more inclusive and transparent procurement landscape that enables SMEs to thrive.
