Carry out Roof Replacement Works for Dumfries & Galloway Council

Dumfries & Galloway Council is looking for expressions of interest from suitably experienced and qualified contractors for a future contract opportunity for the replacement of the Rotunda Roof at DG1 Leisure Facility, Dumfries.

The project involves the removal of the existing rotunda roof and parapet structure at DG1 Leisure Centre and the installation of a new roofing system designed to improve the long-term performance, structural integrity and weather resilience of the facility.

The works will comprise:

• Stripping of the existing roof construction
• Modifications and improvements to the supporting structural steelwork
• Installation of a new single-ply roofing system.

Associated internal works will include alterations to mechanical and electrical services, together with all necessary making-good and redecoration works arising from the construction activities.

To facilitate the safe delivery of the project while maintaining the operation of the wider leisure centre, the contract will include a range of temporary works.

These will comprise:

• Design and installation of specialist scaffolding
• Temporary partitioning to separate construction and operational areas
• Procurement of all necessary permits and statutory approvals, including road opening permits where required.

The estimated total value of this contract excluding VAT is £875k.
