Success Stories: Adamsons Drinks Takes a Shot at Tendering
Established in 2002, Adamsons Drinks is an independent wholesale distributor of soft drinks, snacks and confectionery and employs 55 people in Central Scotland. With support from Business Gateway Fife’s Expert Help Programme, staff accessed free tender training through the Supplier Development Programme (SDP) in 2018 and 2019. In 2020, Adamsons Drinks won its first ever public sector opportunity: a place on a Scotland Excel framework.
A Childminder’s First Bid
Jeni Halliwell runs a childminding business called “Jeni’s Rainbow Cubs” in Arbroath, Angus. Jeni took part in free SDP training on Tuesday, 22 October 2019 to prepare for an upcoming contract opportunity with Angus Council, which kicked off the first time the local authority has engaged with local childminders as sole traders to deliver its upcoming Quality Funded Early Learning and Childcare contract opportunity.
SDP “Dovetails” Success with Social Enterprise

A Supported Business credits engagement with SDP for helping to win two public sector contracts in the Spring of 2019.
Dovetail is a Supported Business that manufactures certified internal fire doors as well as furniture and beds for the contract market.
This social enterprise is located in Dundee and has 52 employees. Dovetail was SDP's featured business for the month of June.
